What is Infusion Therapy?

When will Dr. Firooz recommend infusion therapy?

Infusion therapy may be recommended for patients with certain autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus, gout and osteoporosis and whose condition is severe. Intravenous medication often can provide relief to those who have been unresponsive to or cannot tolerate oral medications.

How is infusion therapy performed?

During an infusion therapy session, medication will be administered via a sterile needle or catheter. Patients receive the treatment in a comfortable setting and are carefully monitored by an experienced infusion nurse during the treatment. While receiving infusion therapy, patients will be fully awake and can read or listen to music to pass the time. Our infusion suite is set-up with comfortable recliners, free Wifi, kindles, magazines, and snacks to ensure a comfortable experience.
